In the south east corner of #Dorset, #Purbeck has 65 square miles of land that is bounded on almost all sides by water, it is not an island but does convey an Island feel
Why not take a boat tour around #Purbeck, you could start in #Poole Harbour and sail around #Brownsea Island. Poole harbour links to the English Channel at #Sandbanks The break in the coastline is crossed by the world famous chain ferry.
You could then continue south past #Studland Bay, #Swanage Bay, to #Peveril Point.
Then turning west would take you around #Durlston Bay and Head, past Anvil Point and the lighthouse to the southernmost promontory of St Aldhems Head, this is also known as “St. Albans Head”.
After this you could then swing north and west further along the coast past #Chapmans pool, and the grounds of Encombe House, recently sold for a staggering £16 million.
Further along is the village of #tyneham, sadly abandoned during the war at a moments notice.
This boat trip is highly popular with #The CASTLETON HOTEL guests.
